Mimy is a percussionist, composer and singer who lives in Oakland, California.   Fikira is his seven-piece afro-jazz band, which plays music inspired by traditional Atandroy culture from southern Madagascar mingled with jazz harmonies and improvisation. Most band members are based in Boston.   Please see the News page for upcoming shows and listen to audio clips by clicking Music below. July 25th: fikira will be in Boston. Concert at the Franklin Park in partenaria with Berklee College of Music. I will be in Madagascar from September 16 through October 15th. I will play in the Madajazzcar festival in early October joinning the trio project with Nicolas Vatomanaga (sax) and Ghomi (piano).
